It’s not even October, but some people have had Halloween decorations outside their houses for over a week now.

I have great admiration for those folks who do the “seasonal” decorating thing. I try very hard to have one “seasonal” item on the corner of my kitchen counter, by my microwave. So far, so good. I have a little pumpkin right now.
I know what you mean… I saw a few houses in town (Kyle, Texas) with decorations out.
I’m more the type that rushes out the day before Halloween and gets a pumpkin… or buys a pumpkin a week or two before and leaves it setting out and forgets to carve it until the night before…
I’m all for advance planning, and seasonal decorations are nice. I just get a little discombobulated (annoyed, even) at seeing Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving.
More and more, people put up seasonal decorations way too far in advance (for my taste, anyway) and then—especially with Christmas decorations—leave them up long after. By the time Christmas arrives, I am sick to death of the whole holiday because I’ve seen the decorations in stores and around neighborhoods for so long.
