The Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in Washington, DC, formerly a private collection and now owned by Harvard University, is an international center for Byzantine, Pre-Columbian, and garden and landscape studies. The house was the site of the Dumbarton Oaks Conference in August 1944, where the formation of the United Nations and the structure of the Security Council were discussed and formulated.

The house and collections are closed for renovations until 2007, but the gardens are still open to the public.
