Brick house in Old Town

july22_house-in-ota.jpg

There are many beautiful (and very expensive) townhouses in the Old Town section of Alexandria, Va., some old and some much newer, some brick and some wood. New houses and additions to the old houses are built to blend in with the original architecture, so you often have to look hard to know what’s an original house and what’s a 20th or 21st century addition.

You can see more Old Town houses at Alexandria Daily Photo.

beautiful! I’m imagining turn of the century garbed men and women strolling in and out!

Now that is a place where I would like to live! Cobblestone and bricks are so compatible!

Yeah, I could definitely live there!

BTW, I ordered the first two Zen books you suggested from Amazon.com yesterday. Thanks for the suggestions!

I like all these bricks. In Belgium and in the north of France, many houses and buildings are made in this way.
