Inside Union Station

This is the vaulted ceiling inside Washington’s Union Station. It is dominated by six statues designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and representing Fire, Electricity, Freedom, Imagination, Agriculture, and Mechanics. I don’t know which these four are. Actually all the statues look the same to me. View Union Station from space in this satellite photograph.

Yesterday, the 100th City Daily Photo blogger was announced and celebrated. Strange because when I count up all the city photoblogs — even excluding the ones that have been inactive for several months — I come up with 130. But hey, who’s counting!
